Reflection essay 2022-2023

I have learned a lot about the technical elements of art. Specifically on different composition like using the pyramid and the rule of thirds, also color uses, even though i missed the unit i still feel like i learned about color theory through the oil painting and a lot of trial and error. Iv learned that i do not like to do hyper realism. Also all of the art history we have done and spotlight artist i did not really know before so i learned all of that. I have seen the greatest growth in my composition, i now think about were i put focal points and what feeling i want my composition to convey instead of just putting things in random places. I feel like i need to improve on my realism because as much as i hate it i want to be able to do because i think i want to do graphic design or animation as a job. Most of the stuff i do is very stylized and i want to be versatile with my drawings and i dont feel the need to make hyper realism but just realistic. I can use what i have learned as i move forward with my independent work next year by makeing art with conscious decisions about color and composition and also working on my realism and once i got that doing fun projects.
